About Us
Founded in 2012, Maverick Strength is your premier training center—built to fit your lifestyle, not the other way around. Our culture is unmatched, driven by real results and a community that feels like family.
We don’t just train bodies; we build something bigger.
I started lifting in a dusty basement with nothing but a garage-sale bench and a dream to make it out of a small town. That obsession with self-improvement—rooted in pain, passion, and persistence—set me on a path I never saw coming.
After chasing hockey dreams and battling chronic pain, I met a coach who changed everything. No ego. No barbells. Just movement, breath, and rebuilding from the ground up. That moment lit a fire in me—to help others unlock the strength they didn’t know they had.
Since then, I’ve trained professional athletes, worked alongside elite doctors to restore the health of some of the toughest and sickest clients, and stood atop the podium as a provincial champion Olympic weightlifter. I’ve spent years learning from mentors like Charles Poliquin and Paul Chek—men who redefined what it means to coach with integrity and precision.
Maverick Strength was born out of frustration with watered-down fitness and a deep belief that every person deserves a program that actually works. No fluff. No shortcuts. Just elite coaching, real progression, and a community that gives a damn.
This isn’t fitness for the masses.
It’s a movement for those who refuse to settle.
Andrew is a , OTA/PTA grad, and certified Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) coach with over 7 years of experience helping people move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free—whether you’re 19 or in your 80s.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of:
- Leading varsity strength & conditioning for men’s/women’s hockey and men’s volleyball (2023 & 2024)
- Winning & Supporting women’s lacrosse as a student athletic therapist
- Training varsity athletes, rehab clients, and everyday movers alike
My passion lies in, because it’s unique to you—and that awareness is powerful stuff. I’m all about creating a safe, welcoming space where people can learn, grow, and feel strong in their own skin.
What pulled me into this field? I saw firsthand that being proactive with your health is way more effective than trying to “fix” things later.
When I’m not in the gym, you’ll find me:
- Gaming on PS5 or Switch
- Reading about nutrition, women’s health, or exercise physiology
- Geeking out over all things wellness
If you ever want to talk movement, mindset, or Metroid—I’m all ears.
Marc has a Kinesiology diploma and have taken courses through NSCA, NASM, CanFitPro, CHEK Institute, BAWLA, and WABBA.
Over the years, he's trained:
- General population (muscle building, fat loss)
- Athletes (rugby, MMA, soccer, track & field, swimming)
- And more recently, older adults—who’ve been incredibly rewarding to coach.
His passion? Building strength and muscle—not just for aesthetics, but for the confidence, empowerment, and real-world capability it creates.
- Goal-driven programming, debunking myths and delivering clarity
- Coaching the skill and intent behind effective training
Jericho is a CrossFit Level 1 coach with over 6 years of experience helping athletes move better, lift stronger, and train with purpose. He got his start at CrossFit Athlete Inside in Calgary—and has been hooked on the energy and camaraderie of group classes ever since.
What drives him most? The vibe, the variety, and the community.
Whether it’s a teenager training for sport or a retiree moving for the first time in decades, Jericho believes everyone deserves to move well. While individual needs vary in degree, not kind, the goal is always progress—and celebrating milestones, big or small, never gets old.
Why coaching?
Growing up, he had incredible coaches who challenged and inspired him to aim higher. Their impact stuck. He lives by the idea that how you do anything is how you do everything—and sees the gym as the perfect place to build both strength and character.
When he’s not coaching, Jericho switches gears into real estate—where he channels the same passion into helping people find spaces that feel like home. He’s a fan of great design, rich textures, and good vibes.
Outside of work, you’ll find him:
- Snowboarding
- Paddleboarding
- Cooking something new
- Reading about fitness, food, or fascinating ideas
- Engaging in deep conversations (he’s always down for a good debate)
At the heart of it all, Jericho is here for the connection, the community, and the continual pursuit of better—inside and outside the gym.
Mike has been coaching since 2020, working across group classes, personal training, and everything in between. His mission is simple but powerful: help people move better, feel stronger, and apply their fitness beyond the gym—whether that’s on a mountain bike, snowboard, or chasing their dog uphill.
Certifications:
- CPPS Level 1
- Pre-Script Level 1
- Kilo Strength Program Design
- CrossFit Level 1
Over two years ago, Mike created a sport-specific training program called “Ride Strong,” designed for skiing, snowboarding, and mountain biking. It remains one of his most valued and impactful contributions to the strength and performance space.
He finds the most fulfillment in personal training, small group coaching, and mobility/injury prevention—in short, building capable, athletic bodies that can do cool things.
Sierra is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and CrossFit Level 1 & 2 Coach who’s been coaching clients ages 15 to 70 for the past few years.
From teens just getting started to adults rediscovering movement, she thrives on helping people find their rhythm and confidence in the gym.
While fitness has always been part of her life, she found her true passion in 2019 when she stepped into her first CrossFit class. The energy, the challenge, and the community quickly made it her happy place—and that’s exactly the kind of environment she now strives to create for every client:
- Positive
- Fun
- Inclusive
- Safe
Her coaching philosophy is simple: The gym should be somewhere you want to be—not somewhere you feel like you have to be. She wants every session to leave people feeling better, stronger, and proud of the work they’ve done.
Outside the gym, you’ll probably find her working out, spending time outdoors, hanging with friends, or relaxing with a good show.
She’s here to help more people fall in love with movement—and build strength that feels as good as it looks.
